Pāua (Shell)

Paua is native Abalone (3) found offshore in Aotearoa (New Zealand). This shellfish is renowned and sort after, in carving, for its unique iridescent colors present in the shell and is often used to depict the eyes due to its shifting nature when looked at from different angles.
